About Us

The Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is one of 31 ADRCs nationwide, funded by the National Institute on Aging.

The Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center offers a variety of programs, resources and research studies for the Arizona community including for:
  • People who have questions about memory and thinking challenges and concerns
  • Family members and caregivers of people with dementia or related memory concerns
  • Healthy adults who want to volunteer for studies on the human brain

We develop and test new ways to detect, diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.

We also help to improve care for patients and their families, and to gather community support from healthy people who are not yet affected by memory challenges.

Please connect with us for:

  • Help obtaining a diagnosis or managing care
  • Support groups and programs for patients, caregivers and family members
  • Ways to participate in research studies that can improve care for all
providing comfort

The Arizona ADRC and the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium (AAC) provide a groundbreaking way for scientists and researchers to work together and make a deep community impact in the effort to end this disease.

Our member institutions are strategically positioned across the state, providing easy access for all communities.

Together we:

  • Build new research, clinical and education programs in partnerships with individuals, organizations and communities
  • Train the next generation of researchers and clinicians
  • Reach out to healthy people, those with memory challenges, and their family caregivers
to inform them about our research and our programs
  • Leverage our unique location in the Southwest to collaborate with local communities and
advance the study and care of Latino and Native Americans

Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium

The Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium’s (AAC) statewide approach makes it possible for more than 150 world-leading scientists to work together against Alzheimer’s disease.

It’s a unique model that, for more than 20 years, has enabled groundbreaking research and benefited underserved communities.

  • Through the AAC, scientists have worked together to:
  • EAdvance early detection and tracking of Alzheimer's disease
  • ESpeed evaluation of prevention therapies
  • EProvide data and biological samples to researchers around the world
  • EIntroduce promising new care models for patients and family caregivers

Our researchers and clinicians and support biomedical research across Arizona and around the world.

Arizona’s Leadership

We’re grateful for the support of Arizona’s communities and government leadership, and are proud to share our accomplishments, including how they have benefited underserved Latino and Native American communities.

Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium and ADRC researchers, leaders from the Consortium’s member institutions, and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey discuss how they are making a real difference in the effort to end Alzheimer’s disease.

We need your support as well, by getting involved with our studies and activities.
